The City of Chesterfield Missouri is young as city’s go but rich in history. Incorporated in 1988 Chesterfield has a successful blend of commercial, residential, and rural properties. Located along the Highway 40 corridor 22 miles west of downtown St. Louis you will find mid-rise office buildings, sprawling retail centers, tree lined neighborhoods, and even some horse farms. The City consists of approximately 32 square miles in suburban west St. Louis County. Chesterfield once consisted of 6 township/communities and was the original community was laid out by Col. Justus Post in 1817 who eventually acquired 21,204 acres of land and the town plat was recording in 1838.
Due to comprehensive planning today Chesterfield is a booming metropolis with extensive public facilities and a vast landscape. Community activities include the 128 acre sports complex, the aquatic park, and the well kept city and county parks. |
